The Pogo 44, a new fast cruiser soon in the water

The Pogo Structures shipyard had been preparing for a few years the release of a cruiser extrapolated from the Pogo36. Today, the shipyard presents the first images of the Pogo 44, a cruiser like they know how to do: powerful, light and fast.

Can't wait for été?! Indeed it is in July that the launch of this cruiser is planned. It is very inspired by its little brother, the Pogo 36 also from Finot-Conq. The Pogo 36 is a deserved success both for its marine qualities and for its functional layout.

Like all the yachts in the cruising range of the Finisterian shipyard, the Pogo44 is the result of a great deal of engineering and architectural work. A Pogo is always a defector of the last technological evolutions at the service of the cruising boats.

With a light weight of only 5.9 t for 12.80 m and a width of 4.50 m, the Pogo 44 is already a featherweight. But the 3.10 m lifting keel and the optional carbon mast offer a particularly low centre of gravity. And this feature is as good for comfort as it is for performance under sail.

The deck is based on the design of the Pogo 36, a very wide cockpit roof, which narrows to give a front view into the saloon and extends far forward to ensure headroom.

The cockpit is divided into a manoeuvring area around the companionway and cockpit benches free of ropes. To steer the very long rudders, you can choose between tiller and wheel steering. The transom has a step for storing the dinghy and provides convenient access for swimming.

Just like the Pogo 50, the carbon bowsprit, which incorporates an offset davit, makes it easy to carry downwind sails. We can already imagine the gennaker edges in 20/25 knots of wind, the hull power, especially in the forward sections, should give wings to this new Pogo.

The Pogo 44 is slightly larger and bulkier than the Pogo 12.50, allowing it to offer up to 4 cabins and 2 bathrooms. The layout of the saloon is around the keel well, to starboard is the long galley and to port is the "L" shaped saloon. Thanks to the width of the Pogo, the cabins are all very spacious.

Definitely, look forward to été?!
